PRODUCT DESIGN CASE STUDY

Shortlet Lagos

Shortlet Lagos project overview

MY ROLE · Guest and investor UX/UI, responsive components and brand identity

Shortlet Lagos

I designed Shortlet Lagos for two different reasons to visit: booking a stay and investing in a rental property. I wanted those journeys to share a brand without confusing what each person came to do.

01What I wanted to solve

I worked across mobile guest discovery and booking, the desktop investment marketplace, responsive components and the identity system.

02The decisions that mattered

Give each audience its own starting point.

I separated guest and investor entry points instead of combining two different offers into one homepage.

Keep the stay search together.

I brought location, dates and guests into one editable search card.

Explain the investment mechanic first.

I showed how shares work, the entry price and the property itself before discussing returns.

03See the work

The screens below show how those decisions came together.

The investment side: shares in high-yield rental properties from ₦50,000, with the property gallery, valuation and share count shown together, the same apartment a guest would book, presented as an asset

The guest side on mobile: where, check-in, check-out and who, held in a single search card above the listings, the four questions a stay actually turns on

04What I can show, and what I would test

The product is live, and the portfolio includes the responsive patterns and brand guideline. I would test whether first-time investors understand what a property share means, and whether guests can find their booking journey without distraction.
