A little about me

I'm Jamiu, a product designer living in Brighton. I care about that moment when someone opens a product and knows what to do without needing to ask.

I care about the moments where people get stuck

My approach

I've spent the past few years working on banking, payments, marketplaces and AI products. The projects look different, but the questions I ask are usually the same: who is this for, and what is getting in their way?

I enjoy getting involved early, sketching rough ideas and talking them through with developers. A neat Figma file is only part of the job.

At Horal I designed for buyers and sellers. At Radius I worked on payments for students and their families. At ITSS I helped design Vista banking across four markets, and at Bizinc I grew into a design leadership role.

I'm also studying for an MSc in User Experience Design at the University of Brighton. It's a chance to keep questioning my assumptions and get better at the decisions behind the screens.

Let’s talk

Why work with me

I'm curious, I ask questions and I care about the small things. I also know when to stop polishing and work with the team to get something useful out into the world.

AI evaluations

Comparative model and visual-quality evaluation; separate from usability research.

BEYOND THE SCREEN

I’m curious about the details most people overlook.

On Radius, that meant thinking about someone trying to pay a student’s fees from another country. On Vista, it meant making sure a finance manager could tell which company they were acting for. Different products, but the same feeling: an important decision should never have to be a guessing game.

I’m now studying UX Design at the University of Brighton, and I still enjoy getting into the technical side of how things are built. Outside the screen, football is a good reminder that teamwork and practice matter there too.

How I approach design

These are the things I try to come back to, especially when a project gets busy.

Clarity

Don't make someone guess what to do next.

Curiosity

Ask a better question before rushing into a solution.

Integrity

Be clear about what I did and what the evidence really says.

Collaboration

Keep everyone in the loop, especially when things change.

“Jamiu turns complex problems into intuitive experiences, collaborates seamlessly, and consistently delivers high-quality work.”

DESIGN → BUILD

I can follow the work into implementation.

I design in Figma, build front-end prototypes and work with AI tools when they help the product. Understanding the build helps me discuss decisions with developers.

01 / FRONT-END

HTML · CSS · JavaScript · React.js

I use these to build prototypes, understand what a design takes to implement and work through details with developers.

Comfortable
02 / LEARNING

C# · Python

I’m learning both languages. My level is beginner.

Beginner
03 / AI ORCHESTRATION

LangGraph

I’ve worked with graph-based agent flows for conversational and AI-assisted products.

Hands-on experience
04 / OPEN-SOURCE AI

Hugging Face

I’ve integrated open-source agents and models into products that people can use without installing local tools.

Integration experience

Have something in mind? I'd love to hear about it.
