My design process

There's no perfect straight line from idea to finished product. I ask questions, try things, go back when I need to and keep the team involved.

Clarity

Make the next step clear.

Curiosity

Ask questions before falling in love with an idea.

Integrity

Be clear about what's real and what's still an assumption.

Collaboration

Keep talking, especially when plans change.

How I work

My design method

1.

Understanding the problem

I start with the people and the problem. The first idea is rarely the whole answer.

2.

Research and design direction

I map the journey and look for places where someone might stop, worry or get lost.

3.

Design, prototype and refine

I prototype the important bits, listen to feedback and change what needs changing.

4.

Deliver and support the build

I stay close to the build, because an interface only works if the details survive handoff.

FAQ

Your Questions Answered

Here are a few things people usually ask before we work together.

+

What kinds of products do you design?

A lot of my work has been in fintech and marketplaces, with AI and healthcare projects too. I enjoy the products where the problem isn't obvious at first.

+

What is your role in a project?

I try to understand the problem first. Then I map the journey, explore ideas, design the screens and work through the details with developers. Each case study shows what I worked on and what I can actually prove.

+

Do you work with remote teams?

Yes. I'm based in Brighton and have worked remotely with teams in different places. I like keeping communication simple, showing work early and talking through decisions together.

+

Can I see your references and credentials?

Yes. I've put the recommendation letters, awards and certificates on my Credentials page. You can read the original documents there.

How can I get started?

Send me an email at aabdulfataijamiu@gmail.com. Tell me a bit about what you're working on and where you need help. I'd be glad to talk.
